The 6-foot-2 point guard comes to Jonesboro from Augustana University in South Dakota, where he spent the first two seasons of his college career.
In the 2025-26 season, Ferguson averaged 20 points, five rebounds and 6.5 assists during his sophomore campaign. Ferguson scored a career-high 28 points in a matchup with Sioux Falls and dished out 12 assists late in the season. He also recorded five double-doubles in points and assists. Ferguson was a much more efficient shooter as a sophomore, shooting 52% from the field and 36% from behind the arc. He was also named All-Region and NSIC South Player of the Year.

As a freshman, Ferguson also started every game, playing just under 34 minutes per game. He averaged 10.2 points and 3.4 assists during the season, dropping 25 points early in the year. He also hauled in 3.9 rebounds per game, proving he is a strong rebounder for his size and position.
In high school, the Minnesota native was a Mr. Basketball contender and led his team to a state championship appearance. He was also a three-time all-conference selection and led the state in points (35.4) and steals (5.9) per game in his senior season.
Arkansas State runs a guard-heavy system under head coach Ryan Pannone, which should allow Ferguson to make an immediate impact. He fills a void at the guard position, replacing players like Chandler Jackson, TJ Caldwell and Matt Hayman.
Ferguson comes to Arkansas State with two years of eligibility remaining.
