Troy rallies in fourth to defeat Buffalo 21-17
Tucker Kilcrease accounted for two fourth quarter touchdowns and Tae Meadows added the game-winner with under a minute left as the Troy Trojans overcame a 17-point deficit to beat the Buffalo Bulls 21-17 on Saturday evening.
The Bulls were leading 14-0 in the middle of the third quarter when Ta’Quan Roberson exited with an injury. Gunnar Gray filled in for Roberson the rest of the way and led them on a drive that resulted in Jack Howes kicking a 39-yard field goal to give the Bulls a 17-0 lead.
Trailing 17-0 early in the fourth, Kilcrease led the Trojans on a 75-yard drive, capping it off with a 6-yard touchdown run and cutting the deficit to 10 with 10:23 remaining. After the defense forced a three-and-out, the Trojans went on a 66-yard drive which ended in Kilcrease finding Rara Thomas for a 10-yard touchdown, making it a 17-14 game.

Several drives later, Troy marched down the field and with 45 seconds left, Meadows broke through for a 20-yard touchdown to give the Trojans their first and only lead at 21-17.

Gray moved the Bulls into Trojans territory after back-to-back completions to Chance Morrow and Victor Snow. On fourth and one, Gray threw a pass intended for Morrow which was batted down, sealing the victory for the Trojans.
At points in the game, the Trojans were using two quarterbacks. Kilcrease finished 14 of 24 for 148 passing yards and one passing touchdown. He also had 50 rushing yards with one rushing touchdown. Ui Ale, who also saw some time throughout the game completed 5-of-10 passes for 54 yards.
Meadows, who scored the game-winning touchdown had 68 yards on 14 carries, averaging 4.9 yards per carry. Thomas caught five passes for 78 yards.
The Bulls scored on their second drive of the game with a goal-line run from James McNeil Jr. after a 39-yard pass from Roberson to Jasaiah Gathings to start the drive.
The Bulls defense was dominate through the first three quarters. They recorded six sacks by halftime and held the Trojans scoreless through three quarters. The final 15 minutes of this game belonged to the Trojans.
For the Bulls, Roberson finished 9-of-15 for 104 passing yards before he went out. Gray replaced him and completed 5 of 13 passes for 49 yards. Al-Jay Henderson carried the ball 22 times for 76 yards, which is 3.5 yards per carry.
The win brings the Trojans to a 2-2 record going into the bye week. The Trojans will return to the field on Saturday, Oct. 4 where they host the South Alabama Jaguars.
