Two Coastal Carolina men’s basketball starters were arrested Tuesday by Conway Police, according to Horry County Jail booking records.
Joshua Beadle, 23, and Nadjrick Peat, 25, were taken into custody at approximately 12:10 p.m. on March 24 on third-degree criminal sexual assault charges. Both were booked at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, where they received $10,000 bonds. Beadle has been released, while Peat is still being held.

Coastal Carolina University released the following statement Wednesday:
“Coastal Carolina University is aware that two current students were taken into custody by the City of Conway Police Department pursuant to warrants issued in connection with an off-campus incident alleged to have occurred on or about March 15, 2026.
“Based on current information, there is no ongoing safety concern or threat to members of the campus community.
“As with any alleged violations of the University’s Code of Student Conduct, the University will proceed through the appropriate student conduct process.
“No additional information is available at this time.”
Coastal Carolina men’s basketball is coming off one of its strongest seasons in the past decade, finishing with 19 wins overall and tied for second in the conference with 11 conference wins. Beadle and Peat were both starters who made significant impacts during the season.
Beadle, a Columbia, South Carolina, native, led the team in scoring with 17.8 points per game, which ranked among the top five in the conference. The 6-foot-3 senior was named Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and first-team All-Conference, while also earning South Atlantic District second-team honors. He previously played at Clemson and Boston College.
Peat, a 6-foot-11 center, averaged 4.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. The senior set a program record with seven blocks on senior night against Marshall and spent his first four seasons at Hawaii-Hilo.
Both players were graduate students this season and do not have any eligibility remaining.
